Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 10:30 without reservation taking here the ticket for the line or with reservation exclusively by the mobile app CODASICURA that you can download from Apple Store, Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery. An identity document is required.
The test result will be available in 24h max. Bilingual report in Italian English. Price: 50 euro.

RAPID SWAB TEST
We perform rapid SARS CoV-2 antigen affinity chromatography tests (nasopharyngeal swabs) every day, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 10:30.
Test results will be available on line within a few hours. Price: 15 euro.
Card payment is recommended to limit contagion and speed up procedures.
The procedure demands that all patients who take a swab test (both rapid and PCR) must fill in a questionnaire that must be handed in on the day of the test. It can be downloaded here.
Furthermore, before the swab test is run, you will have to authorize the processing of your personal data, as the results of the Covid-19 tests will be transmitted to the Health Department of the Regione Sicilia through upload on the website qualitasiciliassr.it.
The processing of the data collected during the health emergency ensuing from Coronavirus Sars Cov 2, is carried out according to art. 14 of the D.L. of March 9, 2020, n. 14 providing for “Urgent measures for the enhancement of the National Health Service with regard to the Covid-19 emergency” and communication n. 14161 of March 16, 2020 from the head of Protezione Civile, regarding “Emergency Covid-19. COVID 19 ANTIBODY TEST
Covid 19 Antibody Test, what is it?
Antibody (or serology) tests reveal the presence in the blood of antibodies produced by the immune system in response to an infecting pathogen, in this case SARS CoV-2 (Covid-19). Please note that the name of the virus is SARS CoV-2, while the name of the disease is Covid-19.
An antibody test looks for the antibodies that an individual has generated as a reaction to foreign antigens, i.e. deriving from viruses, bacteria, etc. In this particular case, the test investigates whether the patient has come in contact with SARS CoV-2.
It is fundamental for a test that evaluates the presence of antibodies to have a high SPECIFICITY and no reactivity towards other types of Coronavirus, with the aim of detecting the presence of Covid-19 antibodies with a high degree of certainty.
Furthermore, the test also needs to guarantee the highest degree of SENSITIVITY in order not to detect false negatives.
Why take the Covid-19 test?
To determine whether the patient has come in contact with the SARS CoV-2 virus.
What method does our laboratory use?
The Dr. Giovanni Di Piazza Medical Testing Laboratory uses a reagent produced by Roche, which guarantees the highest levels of specificity and sensitivity in the tests.
Thanks to chemiluminescence, a technique also known as ECL, this reagent detects the presence of immunoglobulins in the blood serum of the patient with a single test (IgG, IgM and IgA). Whether with a positive or negative result, the Roche test detects the overall antibody response the immune system has had since the appearance of the first antibodies.
The tests are carried out on a proprietary Roche instrument which is completely automated, and interfaced respecting the highest quality standards. Furthermore, making virological tests involves the use of disposable tips within the analyser, in order to eliminate the possibility of contamination between one test tube and the next.
This reagent has a 100% proven SENSITIVITY and a 99.8% proven SPECIFICITY (percentages which put it in the range of the most reliable manufacturers).
Furthermore, the reagent is marked CE IVDD, i.e. marked according to the European Community guidelines for in vitro diagnostic medical devices, and validated by the American Government Organization FDA.
COVID19 TESTS
The laboratory will run the tests with ECLIA technology by ROCHE (potentiated chemiluminescence), the method approved by the National Health System that detects the presence of IgG, IgM and IgA for COVID-19.
Blood tests for COVID-19 are taken on appointment Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 10:00 am. It is not necessary to fast.
To take the test, you may make an appointment by email, staff@analisiclinichedipiazza.it submitting your personal details, including your Codice Fiscale and telephone number.

For private individuals no prescription is needed.
For patients in risk categories delineated by the Department it is necessary that a prescription be sent when making the appointment.
For all patients, Department procedure provide for the filling out of a questionnaire which can be downloaded here.
The patient must download, print, and fill in sections 2 and 4 of the questionnaire, and present it on the day of the test. Without this document signed by the patient the test cannot be carried out. For minors, a parent must fill in and sign the form.
Furthermore, at the moment of the test you will also sign the authorization for data processing, as the results of the tests for Covid-19 antibodies will be transmitted to the Health Department of the Regione Sicilia by uploading them on the website qualitasiciliassr.it.
Costs will vary depending on the test and the results will be downloadable from our website with username and password given to you on the day of the test.
